Pedicure

Most of us enjoy a good manicure. Not only do we have fabulous looking nails, but it’s also quite relaxing. However, so many of us completely neglect our feet and it’s easy to understand why - especially during the winter months when we hide our feet away in warm boots.

However, there are a great number of benefits to be had from giving your feet - and toes - a little treat, with a pedicure, every once in awhile:

  • You don’t have to feel so anxious wearing open-toe shoes and/or sandals, because your toe nails will look gorgeous, without a discoloured nail in sight.
  • Removes hard and dry skin from the soles of your feet, especially at the heels, which can be painful and unsightly.
  • Moisturising the skin is one of the things that a lot of us confess to not doing enough, and our feet - along with our elbows - are probably one of the most neglected areas. A pedicure gives your feet the extra nourishment they need to remain healthy.
  • Some believe that the different areas of the foot can ease pain and tension in various parts of your body, so a good foot massage - that focuses on the pressure points - could help to relieve the tensions especially related to stress.
  • A good foot massage also gets the blood flowing, which is ideal if you suffer from poor circulation. This is ideal for anyone who sits at a desk all day.

St. Ives based Lowena offers a Pedicure for just $50. The treatment lasts one hour, and involves your feet and toes being pampered to the max.

1       First, your feet will be soaked in order to soften the skin whilst helping you to really unwind
2       The nails will then be filed down and shaped so that they are all neat and tidy.
3       Next, the feet will be given a foot scrub; this is great for getting rid of dead skin cells and ensures that your skin feels silky smooth.
4       Cuticles will be pushed back and trimmed. Feet will then be buffed so as to remove all dry skin, especially on the bottom of the feet.
5       Your pedicure will be finished with a soothing foot massage, to wash any aches and pains away.
6       To really complement your treatment, your toes will be polished to leave your nails looking marvellous.

To add a French Pedicure to your treatment will cost just an extra $5, whilst if you would like to add an OPI Gel Colour, this will be an additional $18.

However, sometimes you don’t need or want a full pedicure. Perhaps because you don’t have the time or maybe your nails just need a quick tidy up. Lowena offers two services that are perfect for the time sparse:

To have you toes filed in order to neaten them up, and a polish added, this will cost $15. If all you need is a simple repolish of the nails, then it will be $12.
